Homeward bound! I’m currently typing this from the backseat!
A weekend well spent with the family at our double wide lake home (it may not be fancy but damn is it great).
A few highlights of my small town heaven this weekend include:
making homemade pesto
quiet early mornings (coffee always tastes better on the front porch)
dinner at the golf course
The cutest little boys doing what kids to best- getting dirty
- These kids were “fishing” for carp in what was left of the dried-up bay. Lots of smelly carp and muddy boys. The stink hole was proclaimed “the coolest thing ever” and brought me back to my childhood when I would have been all over that like white on rice.
tempting…. But I just stood back and let the kids tell me about all their catches and how they couldn’t wait to show dad.
oh to be a kid again…..
It was good to be back and let that muddy water cleanse my soul. It’s always a good idea to remind yourself of what’s important in life. Even if it’s just coffee on the porch with those you love or being covered in mud- its anything that makes your heart smile.
