I promised you guys I’d share with you the gifts that Ian and I got for each other on Valentine’s Day. I’m definitely not a huge present girl. I prefer something homemade, or a card with meaningful words. I believe those simple, homemade gifts can speak volumes.
Que to my crafting:
I got this idea from Julie’s blog, and ran with it. I am SO pleased with how it turned out. It made me reflect on my relationship and how truly blessed I am.
I started out by buying a pack deck of cards, (Only $1!!) and used one of the joker to make a “template”. I hole punched the joker where I wanted to holes to go, and then placed a card below it, and hole punched again. I continued this for all the cards!
Then I wrote things that I love about him on a white piece of paper, using a fine tip sharpie. I cut them out, and used a corner rounder (is that what it’s called? I don’t know, it just makes the corners round!) from my mom’s old scrapbook collection to make them look pretty. Thanks for being crafty when I was younger, Momma!
I used photo glue to glue each little blurb to the number side of the cards. While the cards where drying I printed off pictures of us from my computer, and used double sided tape to put them on the opposite side of the blurbs. (I didn’t think glue would do well with printer ink and computer paper!)
Next I added a few heart stickers and tied them up with a pretty red bow!
This took me a couple hours, but if you are looking for a budget-friendly, meaningful gift, this is the way to go!
He loved it 🙂
He got me a TON of candy. I’m a candy freak. Sweet tarts are the bomb. LUHHHDEM.
And also these:
I usually think that flowers are expensive and frankly a waste of money since they die in a week. BUT THESE I CAN PLANT!
He knows me too well 🙂 I have one lonely tulip that pops up in my garden every year. He’s a little fighter. Now he can have a bunch of friends to hang out and look all springtime-ish with.
The gift that keeps on giving! Can’t wait to plant these!
What’s your favorite gift you’ve gotten?
