Please excuse me while I vent.
I hate being sick. No, seriously. I would rather go play in traffic than be sick. No, YOU’RE dramatic.
To top it off, I’ve been sick TWICE in the past two weeks. This has been awful for my training AND my newly found love affair with CrossFit.
I’m supposed to be running about 15 mile weeks with my long run being 6… my long run didn’t happen last weekend and my totals for the past two weeks have been about 5. YES. FIVE. I’m supposed to run 7 on Saturday. I’m hoping I have at least SOME endurance left in this sickly body of mine.
So now I’m not only stressing about training, I’m stressing about not being able to go to CrossFit, catching up on school, and work. I know that rest is the only thing that will make me feel better, but it’s SO HARD to rest when you have so much on your mind.
In an effort to get better, I’ve been doing drugs. Just kidding, Well kind of. Only if you count penicillin and Ibuprofen. And lots of vitamins. Yay strep throat.
Since foods hasn’t been very appetizing as of late, VITACOCO has been my saving grace. Seriously. This stuff is the jam.
Do you guys like my hair? It’s really hot. I haven’t showered washed it in 3 days. Hot, I know. If someone makes me feel better I can totally show you how to do it.
I’ve also been taking a lot of baths. And watching Harry Potter. The fourth one. OMMMGGGG VOLDEMORT IS CREEPY A.F.
On a totally unrelated (but cheerful!) note- the mom I nanny for put this picture on Facebook for me. Her kids don’t wear matching socks now “because Marissa doesn’t.” I’ve started a revolution.
PLEASE TELL ME THAT I’M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS GOTTEN SICK DURING TRAINING.
Please tell me that I won’t die during the half marathon. What’s the maximum distance you’ve run during your training?
and… if running isn’t your thing– tell me how you get better when all you want to do is GO GO GO!
