Hey hey! Sorry I’ve been MIA the past couple days. It was my birthday this weekend and I stepped away from almost all social media and blog-related tasks in favor of enjoying the company of my friends and family.
I’ll recap my birthday later this week. For now, I need to share my an update on my training and my longest run EVER on Friday.
As you may know, I was sick the last two weeks and my training seriously lacked.
This week, however, I hit it hard and was able to fit in 3 CrossFit workouts, a short run and a long run of 8 miles!
Friday morning, I set out to conquer and 8-miler, the longest I’ve ever ran in my life! I’ve run plenty of 10k’s but never anything more than 6.2. Long story short, it was awesome. I felt so light and springy, and the miles seriously FLEW by.
Plus I had a couple Clif Shot Bloks (black cherry, with caffeine!) that I ate at miles 4 & 6. I am a HUGE fan these. Clif sent them for me to try about a month ago, and this is the first run I’ve felt like I needed fuel. Two thumbs up for Clif Shot Bloks.
I ran ended up running a 10:28 minute pace that included stop lights and running into Wendy’s around mile 5 for a cup of water.
After my run I chugged a water bottle and foam rolled. Followed my a much-needed turkey sandwich I was on that runners high allllll day!
About 4 hours later, I started feeling a nagging pain on the outside of my left foot, towards my heel. I ignored it and got ready for the night.
About halfway through the night it was definitely more than a nagging pain. I started limping a little and complained to my boyfriend about the pain, but figured it was just sore from running.
Well, here we are, 4 days later and I can barely walk. I’ve been icing and wearing supportive shoes with my PRO Compression socks nearly 24/7, yet it STILL HURTS.
Has anyone experienced this before? I googled it (because that’s the answer to everything 😉 ) and think it could be tendonitis because it’s literally on the side of my foot.
Please, if you have ever had this happen to you, fill me in. Do I keep training?
Life seriously does not want me to do this half. WELL TOO BAD LIFE.
