Happy May! It’s snowing here. WTF.
Anyways, with the first of the month comes an April #10for10 recap!
If you are just now checking in, #10for1o is a campaign that Chobani put out in February encouraging their ChoFans to pick 10 goals for the remainder of the 10 months. 1 goal per month, I thought? I can SO do that!
Missed my first post about #10for10? Check it out here.
My goal for April was: 10 double unders in a row
it didn’t happen.
I wasn’t at the box as much as I had hoped because of a couple bouts of illness and half marathon training. However, I did get 5 in a row, so I’m happy for that! Lot’s of whips to the face and extremities later, I can say honestly that double unders are no freaking joke.
I am thinking of investing in an RX Jumprope to keep at home so I can practice. A couple of people at my box have one and they highly recommend it. What do you guys think?
Only problem is that they’re a bit pricey.
Even though I didn’t get all ten in April, I’m going to continue working on it and hopefully May will be the lucky month! Which brings me to…
#10for10 May Goal
My goal for May is to finish my FIRST HALF MARATHON!!!!
So far training is going well and even though the slight hiccup with my foot had me a little weary last week, I still managed 9 miles at about an 11 minute pace.
Miles 1-2 were pretty good, pretty quick. I felt awesome.
Miles 3-7 sucked and I hated my life and I was limping and my foot hurt and I had to walk anddddddd you get the idea.
I’m not sure if it was the runner’s high or the fact that I was almost done with 9 miles (the longest I’ve ever ran in my life), but miles 8-9 I felt like I was on top of the world. Yes, my foot still hurt, but I concentrated on how my breathing, turned off my music and soaked in the world around me.
It was the perfect ending to a not-so-perfect run. I recovered with my PRO Compression socks, some ice for my foot and a nice long drive up to Fort Collins for a dinner with my boyfriends family.
17 DAYS & COUNTING UNTIL THE BIG DAY!
Oh & a quick shout out to Chobani for being a great addition to my morning oats. MANGO YOGURT IN MY OATMEAL OHHHMYGOSH. YUM.
What are your goals this month?
