I’m typing this blog post on my front patio with a hot cup of coffee. If this isn’t bliss, I’m not sure what is. Not to get all sappy on you…
Corny. I know. But if I said I didn’t giggle to myself when I typed it, I would be lying. Plus, isn’t that a cool picture? You can’t really tell, but there was SO much sap on this tree it was insane!
Back to talking about the blissful morning I am enjoying typing up this blog post while enjoying the sun. Speaking of bliss, I finally was able to get my lake fix the other afternoon. I am beyond in love with my summer days spent at the lake, specifically McConaughy. It’s where I feel the happiest and most true version of myself.
Nothing says Marissa more than crazy lake hair and tan lines.
Although it isn’t quite time yet to return to my small town lake life just yet (6 days!!!!!!), I was able to spend the day at my good friend Emily’s lake. We welcomed the sunshine with open arms and a few hours kayaking, playing in the water and adventuring around the outer banks.
During the kayak ride we spotted a muskrat putsin along in the water, as well as some stinky carp mating along the banks.
Around noon-ish, we went inside for a snack. Have you guys ever tried this yogurt dip? Its beyond delicious. And it’s from Costco. You know how much I love Costco.
It’s especially yummy with carrots or pretzel chips!
After snacking and more girl talk, it was back out on the water.
It is SO peaceful to just be out on the water with no other distractions. It is one of my absolute favorite things in life. I can’t wait to get to my lake house in Nebraska next week and soak up some more lake sounds, smells and beautiful scenery from my small town haven.
OH, and I should add I got a vaccine yesterday (and a neon pink bandaid, you can’t see it very well in the picture), which turned into an awesome band aid tan line. Too funny.
It was an awesome way to welcome summer and say goodbye to spring semester. Although, it isn’t officially summer until you wakeboard to Barbara Streisand 🙂
Have a sunny, wonderful weekend!
