Happy Sunday! Today is officially my last day of summer. Yep- I start school tomorrow! I can’t believe I only have one more year left until graduation. Whoop whoop!
That means today is going to be spent running errands and purchasing some new notebooks. Nothing makes me happier than a fresh, crisp notebook! Truth be told, I love learning and would go to school the rest of my life if I could make a living out of it. Unfortunately, I would be up to my eyeballs in student loans.
With summer coming to an end, I’ve been relishing every drop of sunshine-y bliss. This includes going to town on fresh fruit that just screams summer. One morning this week, I was craving something refreshing and sweet. So, I broke out the blender and got to work on a smoothie with some of the fruit we had in our fridge.
Voila! A slightly tangy yet refreshing watermelon-strawberry smoothie was born. This smoothie is low-cal, tasty and is great for a post-workout snack after sweating in this summer heat!
Into the blender went:
- 5 strawberries
- 5 large chunks of watermelon
- 1/2 c of vanilla yogurt
- Splash of almond milk (I use Silk)
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I used Designer Whey Vanilla)
- 1/2 c of ice
Mix er’ on up! This smoothie yield one LARGE serving. You better believe I gulped it all down!
I’ve been loving this smoothie and have made it 3 times since first discovering it last week!
OH! On another happy note, my new Reebok Nanos came in!! I was debating between the 2.0 and 3.0, but decided on the 2.0. Plus, I got them for $30 off. An $80 price tag is much easier to swallow than a $120 one, which the nano 3.0′s cost.
Aren’t the colors freakin’ sweet?
I’m in love. They make me want to WOD ALL DAY LONG.
Welp, I better get going. It’s time to go school supply shopping! Woop woop!
Let’s go Hermione.
