Hi guys! Can you believe it’s already October? I can’t. It’s supposed to snow here on Friday and I’m not sure how I feel about it. We’ve only been having “fall” weather for like a week. I can’t get on board with snow just yet.
I know I haven’t talked about it much on the blog, but I will be running my second half marathon in 3 weeks! When I first signed up for the race, I was pumped because I wanted to PR and thought I would pour my heart and soul into training.
and then that didn’t happen.
…. isn’t that how it always goes? I kind of got burnt out on running and was enjoying my daily WODs at my box. It’s tough to get the motivation to go run when all I want to do it hang out with my box family.
This probably isn’t the smartest way to train, but I do have a good base so I am not very worried about it. Plus I just got some killer new shoes that make
me speedy my knees and shins very happy.
Golden is so pretty. Sigh. Too bad it’s one big freaking hill.
My 8-mile run was pretty slow, but I still got it done! I also chowed down on a margarita flavored CLIF shot blok around mile 6. I fueled my last half marathon training runs entirely on shot bloks, but I had yet to discover this holy grail of running fuel. HOLY SMOKES. You guys need to try these. They are salty/sweet and a little sour. They taste so damn good on a hot, sweaty run.
Other than that my life this week has consisted of studying for midterms, some freelance projects and football games. And some very happy little moments like these:
AAAANNND I can’t forget about this little brat. I love her. Especially that lip.
