Summer is officially over. I’ve been hanging on to the last few days of warmth but alas, it’s time to pull out the boots and scarves.
Speaking of… I just bought a new pair of snow boots for the first time since I was like ten. Being a Colorado native you would think that I would realize that UGG boots aren’t proper snow shoes.
I bought them at Nordstroms Rack for 40% of the original price. I LOVE Nordstroms. I also found a pair of Sperry’s there for $30… but they weren’t available in my size. Sad. Face.
If you haven’t been able to tell, I was on a Watermelon craze this summer.I experimented putting the juicy fruit in almost everything, including smoothies, drinks…pancakes. Just kidding, that would be gross.
Into the blender went:
- Half can of peach fresca
- 5 large watermelon chunks
- Squeeze of fresh lime
- 1/2 of ice
Blend it all together until slightly slushy! Even though the weather is cooling down, we still have a few days of warmth left ahead before we get hit with full blown blizzards.
It also would taste good with a shot of vodka for a healthier cocktail. Girls night anyone?
Post Half Marathon
It’s officially been 4 days since the Rock n’ Roll half marathon and I can say that I’m pretty much back to normal. I still need to catch up on my sleep (I haven’t been very good about going to bed early), but my body is ready to incorporate exercise back into my routine.
I went to CrossFit today and could tell that my quads were still pretty tight, but I was still able to complete the WOD, I just used lighter weights! I’m ready to get back into the swing of CrossFit and am even debating on signing up for a month of MobilityWOD.com. $8 will get you a months worth of mobility workouts. Sounds like a deal to me.
