I’m uber sore this morning. Like I can barely sit down to pee, sore. Even where my neck meets my head (I’m sure there’s some term for this?) is tender. Eek!
After 10 days (YES. TEN. WHOLE. DAYS) off from my CrossFit box, I headed to the gym on Monday night to complete a workout consisting of a 12 minute EMOM, 3 position squat snatch and a 15 minute AMRAP of 3 heavy snatches, 4 front rack lunges and 5 barbell rollouts.
Days off from CrossFit mean gross looking hands upon return.
Holy toledo, even the hair on my head are aching!
This was actually an unplanned break from CrossFit, but I’m so glad that it happened. Life just happened to get crazy during these last two weeks, and I really shifted my focus on training for the Nike Women’s Half. Which is next week, btw. FLIP.
I came home to this surprise one afternoon last week! Weee! Thanks CHAARG and Nike!
So, those ten days consisted of REST, sleep and a few runs, including one long 13-mile run that I struggled through. I’m trying to overcome this dang cold but was determined to get that last long run in before taper time!
I’M SO GLAD THIS HAPPENED. On Monday, I came back to the box feeling stronger than ever. I struggle with squat snatches (I did 55# during the EMOM), but they actually felt good on Monday.
During the WOD I used 75# for the entire workout, which was heavy, but not killer. I was seriously impressed with how good I felt.
I can’t wait to leave for the NWH next Thursday and am excited that I feel strong, healthy and ready to roll. Now, if only I could get my nose to stop dripping buckets.
Oh, and here is something hilarious for your hump day.
Don’t skip leg day, friends!
See you Friday!
