Don’t know why the title of this post is FRIEday. I’m not even craving french fries. Welcome to my brain at the moment. #scattered
Well, that was an unintended blogging hiatus. Sorry for the radio silence over here, folks!
I don’t really have a valid excuse. Other than the fact that I literally have not been feeling like myself. I’ve been feeling exhausted (even though I’ve been getting 8-9 hours per night), irritable and my body is taking MUCH longer to recover than usual. I should not still be sore almost a week after my CrossFit competition + I’m still cringing every time I lift up my arms.
Any ideas? Lingering sickness (lingering as in 5 weeks… gah)? This is getting REAL old. I’ve only been able to work out a total of 3 times in the past 3 weeks (half marathon, one WOD and then my competition). HELP ME I’M GOING CRAZY.
I owe y’all a CrossFit comp recap, but to be honest I’m just not feelin’ it today 🙂 So, here’s a random post with some random thoughts that hopefully should catch ya up to speed about what’s going on in this brain of mine.
1. I really need a hair cut.
I’m debating on whether or not to chop off this thick, curly mess that is my hair, or keep it long and just go for a trim. Long hair is easy to toss into a braid, but to be honest I’ve had long hair for SO long (that’s a lot of long) that I think I’m ready for a change.
Even when I DO straighten or curl my hair, it is so thick that it ends up turning frizzy and I pull it into a pony before the end of the day. It doesn’t feel polished!
Now I don’t mean a change as in cut all my hair off. Don’t get crazy.
I’m thinking more so along the lines of this:
Speaking of Pinterest, I’ve been loving laying in bed and pinning everything pretty. Let’s be Pinterest friends. But only if you pin house stuff/dessert recipes/cute clothes/ good quotes. I think that’s all that Pinterest land is made of, right?
2. I’ve realized that I own way to many pairs of shoes.
Since I’m in the process of packing up my life and getting ready to move, I’m trying to cut down a bit on ‘stuff.’ I donated a TON of heels. But there is no way I’m getting rid of my 10 pairs of tennis shoes (I’m not kidding) or zillion flip flops. #priorities
If you have any crafty ideas on how to make two people’s shiz fit into a tiny closet (BUT IT HAS BUILT IN SHELFS!) please let a sister know.
3. I caved + bought a Stitch Fix (that’s an affiliate link, friends).
Not really sure what got into me, but I caved and bought one. SUCH A COOL COMPANY. It’s like they know me or something 🙂 I’ll post pictures of what I kept later, because I’m lazy and don’t feel like getting out my camera.
On the clothes front, I’m looking for shorts that are appropriate to wear to work (a causal work environment but still don’t want daisy dukes) and are comfortable. Any suggestions? I’m leaning towards Banana Republic/J Crew/Loft style.
4. I’m going to the Blend Retreat!
Thanks to Fairlife, I’ll be in Park City the first weekend of June for some fun with my blends. Can’t WAITTTTTTTT. Who else is going?
I should probably get back to my to-do list. Did I mention I graduate in 8 days? YIPPEE SKIPPEE.
