Last Saturday I woke up bright and early (5:00am on Saturdays have become a new norm. WHAT?) to meet my friend Shelby at Red Rocks for some yoga.
Red Rocks teamed up with Core Power to give four Saturday sessions of Yoga on the Rocks. I was planning on attending the event anyways, so when I was approached to write about it on my blog in exchange for free passes, I happy obliged [if you’re local — there’s a fun little giveaway for you at the end!].
We arrived right on time and snuck in to a little two-person spot on the south side of the amphitheater where we happened to run into Lynne!
The views were I beautiful, and it felt awesome to be up that early AND outside. The instructor lead us through a variety of poses, many of which I can’t even remember their names. I’m not the bendiest person (as I literally can’t touch my toes… it’s embarrassing), so yoga is definitely not my forte.
I’d love to get better at it, as I left the class feeling rejuvenated and relaxed at the same time. There were a few poses that felt really goooood. Especially one where we twisted and opened our arms while in chair pose [do I sound like an idiot?]. That was a shoulder opener and I tend to tense up in my upper back/shoulders.
Anywho, I defintely need to start incorporating more stretching into my routine. Not only for my bajillion knots and tight muscles, but for my sanity as well! There’s something about yoga that’s so refreshing. Especially when you’re out in the sunshine and fresh air!
NOW. For the fun part. LOCALS: If you can make it to Red Rocks one of the following Saturdays, you’re eligible to win this giveaway.
The giveaway includes:
- a free pass to one of the Yoga on the Rocks dates for you and a friend
To enter, leave a comment telling me your favorite yoga pose… because I really need to step my game up with these poses! Or, if you don’t know any, tell me your favorite way to relax.
Got it? Good! I’ll pick a winner on Thursday evening.
