Training for my first 50k has been interesting. Seeing as I’m literally just flying by the seat of my pants, it’s been a real learning experience. All of the advice I’ve gotten has been extremely helpful — but the whole endeavor has ultimately been a learning experience. Throughout it all though, there’s been 5 things that I’ve come to realize are the nature of the beast when it comes to training for an ultra.
