Thanks for all of the supportive comments on my last post! I’m super pumped and am glad I can share this goal with you guys.
As far as training last week, I was on point:
Thurs: 3 miles
Fri: 4 miles
Sat: 4.5 miles
Sun: 12 miles
Total mileage: 23.5
I’m diggin’ this Fall weather! The temps were perfect this weekend, which was an excuse for me to spend both Saturday + Sunday in the sunshine with my favorite people!
On Saturday, I met up with my Mom, Aunt, Sister + Niece at the Golden Farmer’s Market — last one of the season!
I loved how the produce was mostly squash, which I’ve been wanting to cook with more. If you have any good butternut squash recipes, send ’em my way!
Summer LOVED Clear Creek and kept wanting to nose-dive into the water. I let her put her feet in, and she quickly realized the water was freezing and looked at me like I just inflected some kind of torture on her. It’s her way or the highway.
Other than that, I spent Saturday running errands, spending way too much $$ at Costco and reading! It was a picture perfect Fall weekend.
Sunday, I woke up early to run a 12 mile loop at Centennial Cone. This was my first trip to the trail, but I definitely say I’ll be back for more! The terrain changes from technical and wooded to flat, rolling and open over the course of 12 miles.
As far as wildlife goes, we saw a snake on steroids and a couple of horses. That’s good enough for me. I’m still waiting for the day when I pee my pants and cry uncontrollably running into a larger animal.
I didn’t fuel enough on the run, because I was super dizzy when I got home. So I took a nap. Because naps are literally the cure to everything.
I can’t believe that Indian Creeks is only a few short weeks away! I’m feeling good about training, but I need to nail down fueling.
Have a wonderful week!
